The "Golden Bridge" Project is an attempt to draw greater attention to the problems faced by children and adolescents.
I was inspired to set up this project
when I became aware of the problems affecting children and adolescents throughout the world.
More and more children are being born with medical problems, present symptoms such as neurodermatitis and hyperactivity, have learning difficulties and are becoming to some extent unteachable. One young person in six suffers from some kind of eating disorder.
The number of children and adolescents who become juvenile delinquents is constantly increasing. Many children just cannot cope with the demands of the modern world and drift out to the margins of society. Some give up, others fight for recognition on their own terms. This should act as a warning to us all. I believe that we are moving in the wrong direction, and I am convinced that, if we focus our energies more successfully, if we provide a happy environment and if we work together, we can bring the yin-yang of the current situation back to some kind of normality.
The children involved have special abilities and are very sensitive. By using carefully selected therapies and by going the extra mile, we can help them to achieve greater self-esteem and overcome their anxieties.
It is worth fighting for every child, worth offering them assistance and worth encouraging them to achieve something, for their own sake and for the sake of society as a whole.
Every child deserves love, esteem and respect. Children who are treated in this way will, themselves, treat other people with proper consideration.
In this way, if we have a little patience, balance can be restored in the cycle of light and shade.
